that means, buy a honda- they'res an extremely cheap aftermarket, and plenty of em floatin around in the junkyards... you could buy an eclipse, 240, mustang, camaro- all of em have a good aftermarket, however the price of the car in the buying process is usually substancially higher than say a DX EF civic. just lettin you know wyche. no DX.

it's a bitch. i knew you had some cash lyin around to find a halfway decent car, thats why i said No DX. if you've got some cash, can afford to do a swap and dont plan on keepin the stock motor in it grab DX. its not a ton of work, but its a pain. i've never done it, but i've read a bit on it and it doesnt seem to exciting.

fuck a prelude- too heavy, teg- heavy also, pricey to buy, eclipse gt? as in V6? throw that shit in the dumpster. You want a DSM(eclipse, talon, laser) buy a 90-94. Much cheaper, better built, better parts, and basicly, if the lights and horn work and you have some rubber around the wheels you pass inspection. anything '95 and previous is gonna be a lot easier to tune and build than late models.

gt is gay the 1st gen are better, and faster for a few hundred dollars. but then again dsm suck, yah they run for day oh wait its broke for a week. 1st gen you can modify and tune and they are turbo.... dont get a non turbo bc its slow and sucks no matter what it sounds like you need to start with the basics, buy a honda if you dont know much about cars. then learn a little and build one then learn a little more and do a Ls1 v8 in a miata, that my next project.

GT is not a good choice for above reasons stated earlier. They're heavy, ugly, mods are minimal, prices are maximum. I had a friend with a GT a few years ago. He ordered headers with a 1400$ price tag. For 1400$ in a 1st gen turbo eclipse, you can probably run a low 13 second 1/4 mile, as fast as the fastest cars in the club at the current time. If you are into cars that do nothing but look good, forget acceptance in this group. I think the only car with half way decent paint is wielands, lol. You want to learn how to go fast on a budget and maybe make some apperance sacrifices in doing so, stay on this site. And also, if you dont want to value the opinions of people with much more experience than you(there are a few of us) you probably wont last long either. If the older people in the group speak on your threads, read and learn. We're not geniouses by any means, but we can get you rolling in your selection of and road towards faster "Tuner" cars for minimal money.

im def not in neway trying to avoid your advice... im just trying to understand why certain things are bad choices since u all do have so much more experience than me. I really do want to learn and im hoping to get all the input i can from you all. I guess my biggest question would be should i just go wit a honda civic? and if so wat year... Like i said...ill be more than willing to take all the help i can get.
