i heard some cheap/older radars go off when ever you pass a grocery store or a mall, or anything with a large alarm system, i know my uncles goes off so much on false things that he ignores it most of the time. but his is about 3-4years old.....i guess the newer ones would work better the higher end ones allow you to dial in or adjust sensitivity. i recommend you get one that can be upgraded such as the V1 to keep up to date with the band and frequency changes implemented by the police. and again, before posting up which brand is better or whatever, read the results in the link i posted above. it will help determine which one works best for you. it all depends on what detection type is most important to you. and of course, there is the cost factor. most will tell you the V1 is the best hands down. BUT if you look at tests done in various conditions/scenarios, there are several areas in which others excel far beyond the V1.

umm... i have some old cheap ass cobra, it keeps me outta trouble... if you need any more protection than what i have, i dont think you should really be driving.
