id probably stick with 2.25 on your application. your motor doesnt rev incredibly high, and youve probably got a 1.6 right? 2.5 would probably be overkill unless your going to turbo it later.

its a 1.8l 7afe. the corolla LE is the one with the 1.6l which has a 4afe.

so my mom took the car to remco today and i talked to the guy on the phone to see what was possible. he said that there was no possible way to put a hi-flow cat on the corolla and that putting a 2.25 inch exhaust wouldnt help it out at all or increase the sound and my muffler was restricting all of my air. that was total bs so i dont have my exhaust yet but im gonna go and get a exhaust made and have my freinds at neals put the cat and exhaust on for me. i also talked to a guy at neals who has swapped out his miata engine for a jdm engine and did alot of work on it. he recommended the 2.5 inch pipe and said that i would be just fine horsepower wise and that it would be a better outcome so, as soon as i get that pipe bent i will have him put my exhaust on for me. sorry if i got any hopes up and messed them up, but this is just getting really anoyying and yea....it will happen sooner or later (hopefully sooner)

bahaha...well he sure impossed his opinions on your project. Thats where I was considering going to have my charge pipes fab'd up, but if there is apparently no possible way to put a Hi-flow cat on a corolla, I dont know how they're going to handle what I want them to setup.

first off, your goal for putting an exhaust should not first be loudness, but flow. flow=power. less bends is better, so is less restriction. since your rolla is older than a 96, you won't have to worry about emissions. and the guy is the shop is just doing his job, because legally a "high flow cat" is not legal, it's a bolt-in straight pipe. there are no catalysts. anyways, take out your stock cat, and gut the shit out of it. take a pipe, crow bar, anything, and smash all the crap outta their. it's a cheap man's high flow cat. then tell him youll just take the 2.25 inch, and you know what that means......you'll HAVE to get forced-induction soon and get the 2.5

dont get 2.5. just get 2.25 and youll be good to go. they cant put a high flow cat on there bc its illegal.

ok, since you already know everything about exhaust it seems like, and you're tellin the people that have 2-3 times the knowledge of you and been in this lil car game for prolly about as long as you are old, exactly what you're gonna do. (matt's telling me that was completely incorrect english but i dont care-) my point is!- dont put questions on this board that are gonna be nearly irrelavent cause you think you know what you're doin. do not put 2.5 on that car. you shouldnt be asking this question anymore, you've been told like 10 times what to do. why ask retorical questions? put on 2.25, take out 4 bolts that hold the cat in the car, put 4 new bolts back in it and go to the muffler shop. when you get home, check all your corolla info- LE corolla's are top of the line,GASP*** higher than DX!!!!***** and are 1.8's. 1.6's were in base models with the 3 spd auto or C50 5 spd............ I think i may start a ricer section on this board soon.

ok. sorry about that but i heard the le was the 1.6. 2.25 it is. ill take everyones word for it, especially those who have owned corollas. an sorry about acting like i know everything. i dont mean to do that, its just what ive heard from others and apparently its not right. also, i want to apologize to a certain couple of ppl(one of which brought some things to my attention) for saying a bunch of plans for the car that havent happened. i was going off what my parents have told me and they keep breaking promises for my car. im not goingby what they tell me any more so i wont post until im 11% possitive of what im gonna get.

heres an idea, dont rely on your parents for your car- do shit yourself... it makes your car a lot cooler that way... parents paying for cars ends up turnin people into bitches and cars into bitches rides....

ease up a little now, davie boy! we all know it's nice when every once in a while our 'rents offer to pitch in. but he's right, chris. just work and pay for it yourself. you'll appreciate it more, and be more careful of what you spend money on. after all, it's your money!
