actually the spec clutches are pretty fuckin nice. I'm not so sure if some of the D-1 Grand Prix cars that run them think they suck..... maybe there were "other factors" that led to the to doug's problems. i would recommend a Spec clutch any day of the week

well, are you runnin one erik? dont gimme shit about other factors. i've thrown more hell that doug wishes he could ever produce at all my cars and i have yet to put a 300$ clutch in my car 2 times in less than 6 months. I never even surfaced or replaced flywheels in my cars when i did clutches and didnt have that much trouble. dougs first flywheel was resurfaced and the second one was a brand new fidanza. i've run advance clutches that lasted better and had better warranties. i will be sending both clutches in for an inspection at SPEC soon.

i ain't got the goddamn money for one of them nice clutches! you kiddin me? you put a spec clutch in car correctly, you break it in correctly, and you drive it like a car should be driven, and you will NEVER regret buying a Spec clutch. Also, it wasn't noted on here, but Spec sent David another clutch for FREE when the one he had mysteriously got torn up. name a better warranty than that....

If i got to replace my clutch every time i drove my car i wouldnt care what was in it and im sure that after every drift event those guys get a brand new fresh spec clutch. a better warranty is a clutch that doent break when you use it. and how is a racing clutch supposed to be driven?how is a racing clutch driven correctly? oh yeah racing clutches are desighned to last less time than a oem clutch given the same abuse... i forgot...sorry, some times i get confused about stage 2 clutches and how they last about half as long as oem replacment clutches... on a side note, i like the excedy stage one, the stage 3 chatters like you wouldnt believe dont buy it. ACT is the best to buy for almost any car.

i'm sure you should talk to david about how the clutch got fucked up before you say it was a crappy clutch. and i was referring to driving a 5-spd correctly. i.e. not slipping it long and hard, not riding it, and for a oem or stage 1, not too many kicks and drops. I will stand behind Spec no matter what "happened" to doug's car. the point is, it's a great clutch. any more said would be a waste of space. SPEC= excellent quality, excellent warranty, excellent customer service.

i was reading something and it said you had to either get a new flywheel to work with it or get your old one grounded. and it has to be ground instead of lathed or it wont work right

i was reading something and it said you had to either get a new flywheel to work with it or get your old one grounded. and it has to be ground instead of lathed or it wont work right did you not read what i said above? the first flywheel was turned before the clutch went in. the second one was with a brand new fidanza. I'm still wondering how you know all these things about the clutch erik. The only thing I'd give spec is good customer service. Thats about all i give them a 10 on. As said above, a good warranty is one that never has to be used, IE- ACT in RX7- outlasted 2 transmissions in a car that put down near 100 hp more than factory flywheel hp to the ground, ditto with torque. I know for a fact that niether clutch was incorrectly installed or broken in considering that i did both.
