trust me, learned from experience
I know you have seen the longass contract they sent you, and if you haven't, then you will. And make sure you read every single word of it. There's a BIG trick they can play on you, and if you agree, it's completely legal. And don't you think it's a bit odd that they took your $90 before you even received the contract?

oh mine does... what is the best legit way of getting sponsorship? it depends on the tuner/retailer. lots of them now have applications online. and there are varying levels of sponsorship. i started off with just calling first and asking if sponsorship was available. then i snapped pics and made a presentation on the car w/ list of mods and plan for the car along a timeline. once i started getting sponsors, i added my list of them when i applied for another. my case is a bit different because i sold parts for various tuners and they *gladly* decided to be my sponsor. but for now, i have no plans on getting one this time around.

the other thing...I recognize that a sponsors main goal is exposure, so show, drift, race attendance, whatever would be required. What were the terms of your sponsorship, eugene? Do you have a racing background, or was it for show?

the other thing...I recognize that a sponsors main goal is exposure, so show, drift, race attendance, whatever would be required. What were the terms of your sponsorship, eugene? Do you have a racing background, or was it for show? as i mentioned, each sponsor has different conditions; however, most require you to go to a certain number of shows, put decal on your car, etc. my most laidback sponsor was a company that sells detailing products. the company owner just asked me to send pics of the car clean, list of mods, plans for it, and what shows i had been to and was planning on going to in the next year. he decided to sponsor me and the requirement was to go to a few shows, have the products on display next to or near my car, and have 2 small decals on the car at shows. i got free stuff and great discounts on their products. my most crazy sponsor required that i go to a whole lot more shows, track events, etc. i did not get a large percentage discount (but at the time, it was better than nothing since the parts were very expensive and their manufacturers were strict on public pricing) i had to have 2 larger decals on the car. i was also required to drive to a photoshoot. if i did not go to the events planned out by the sponsor, i would have to pay a penalty (basically pay the difference between retail pricing and the discounted pricing i paid). and i was not allowed to put on certain things on my car including certain brand tires. most of your sponsors want you to go to shows. i have a little racing/tracking background. on a bit of a side note, i used to get a lot of free *nice* stuff because i worked with many tuners. hope that helps.

i never knew u were sponsored^^^^^ i am not currently sponsored by anyone except a detailing products company. this was for my B5 S4. i did not have plans to seek much sponsorship for my current car but since i want V-CSL or oem CSL parts, i may apply with a couple of companies.
